PETRA KARA label is a rebrand of Atelier Calliste by Petra Kara that took place in 2025 to focus on the personal connection of the designer with women and allow the brand to expand and create Designer Collections apart from Custom Creations that is still the case. It was created with the mission to give access to dreams with zero compromises at the most important life moments.
Living and Breathing the "zero compromise" philosophy, we make luxury couture accessible offering 100% personalization by customizing design, size, fabric and cost whether you choose from our Collection or request for a Bespoke Creation.
We believe in Fashion as an Art form, but we want to eliminate the negative impact of it to the environment. Thus, we adapt a preorder system, zero fabric waste and we use natural, recyclable, dead stock and on demand fabrics. We do not like following trends, just our heart! Finally, we support, curate and collaborate with other designers, artists and handcrafting communities to complete the special look.
Who We Are
Petra Karastatira is the Founder and Creative Director of PETRA KARA label. She is a storytelling designer, shaping narratives from the tension between rebellion and ritual, where myth meets couture. The designs are dramatic, ethereal and sculptural, balancing sensuality with timeless elegance. Inspired by greek mythology and the dreamlike power of transformation, she envisions women as both fragile illusions and unstoppable forces.
Located in Switzerland and originally from Greece, she has always possessed a creative spirit, fueled by her passion for arts. She believes that "the way we dress is a story we tell about ourselves". She is also a strong supporter of women, she designs for the name of Love and she believes that women deserve to be loved and can achieve everything with shelf worth, accepting zero compromises, asking for no permission. With this thought, she had a need to enable women live their dream and created an accessible luxury brand to touch each woman in her greatest life moments without compromises.
She often says she has lived two lives: her first in the corporate realm, she gained 18 years of international marketing experience in P&G. Alongside her corporate career, she grew her skills in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Fabric Manipulation and Fine Art. This passion led her to a second life, to her rebirth, living her dream as a storytelling designer, creative entrepreneur and mentor for new designers enabling them to live out of their talent!
